Josh: Last one I read was Fat Food Nation. It was very informative and scary.

MI: Have you ever inhaled?

Josh: Many times.

MI: Whatís your opinion on the legalization of drugs?

Josh: I think it should happen. We could tax it, we could control it, we could make sure people get clean needles and it would be great.

Josh. No.

MI: How did you pick guys for the new band and who are they?

Josh: I called an ad I found in a music magazine and found a band that was looking for a singer. I thought it would be a cool way to find some no name guys that were rally hungry. I did it and it worked out, I canít believe I only called one ad.

MI: What was the most memorable show live you ever played?

Josh: The HFS festival in Washington, DC. We played in RFK stadium and Iím a huge pro football fan. We were playing where the Redskins play and it was packed and it was crazy.

MI: If you could play any place in the world where would you pick?

Josh: Japan. They really get it over there. They really get interested in your entire career, not just your record, what your interests are, how you came about writing musicÖ. Theyíre really thorough and theyíre really humble and wonderful people. I love the culture and the art. The fans are very gracious and they go crazy and itís cool.

MI: If you werenít a musician right now what do you think you would be doing?

Josh: Iíd be a boxing promoter.

MI: Which was your favorite movie to be in? The Salton Sea, Triple X, The Banger Sisters, or The New Guy?

Josh: The Salton Sea. I got to work a lot longer on that film. I worked about two and a half weeks on that film and the actors were incredible and I got to do a lot more scenes. I have a new movie coming out called Lightning Bug. Itís an independent film and I got do some acting in it.

MI: Where were you when 9-11 happened and how did it affect you?

Josh: I was on a tour bus headed for San Francisco and I woke up and it was on the TV. I saw the plane going into the building and couldnít believe it. That day they had a lot of San Francisco blocked off and it felt like I was in a third world country. The next day my tour manager wanted me to cancel the show and I said ďFuck no, Iím not canceling the show. Weíre doing the show. Fuck these terrorists, fuck all that bullshit, weíre not going to cancel out lives because somebody is trying to scare us.Ē So we did the show.

MI: What kind of memorial for the victims of 9-11 would you build?

Josh: I would put them in a New Orleans style cemetery where theyíre all above ground and people could come visit.

MI: What do you think about Americaís doings in the Middle East?

Josh: I think itís a fucking mess. Itís turning into this prolonged never-ending mess where soldiers are getting killed every week. I wish we could come to a conclusion and a plan on how to solidify that country so that we can get our troops out of there.

Josh: Iím a very passionate man. I love what I do.

MI: Give me your opinion on computerized music.

Josh: Everything is computerized now, even rock. I think itís great. I love all the new technology. The only bad thing is you can make a really bad singer sound great, but when they play live the singer canít hit any of their notes.

MI: What do you think about the state of the music industry today?

Josh: The music industry is in chaos. They donít know what to do with them selves right now. All the burning and downloading has put everyone in a tailspin. Whenever thereís chaos thereís opportunities and thatís what weíre all about. Weíre all about opportunities.

MI: How do you feel about the free downloading?

Josh: Itís a problem. A good thing is that free music turns on people to us. The problem is these kids are downloading the records and they donít need to go buy the record anymore. I think in some ways itís great and in some ways itís bad.

MI: If you could play with anyone, who would it be??

Josh: If I could be on the ultimate bill it would be: Prince, PJ Harvey, Local H, Blink 182, and us.

MI: How did a nice sexy guy like you wind up in Calvin Klein ads?

Josh: That was just a big music campaign. A lot of music people did it, like Moby, and a couple of rap artists, and I got thrown in the mix.

MI: What is your favorite movie?

Josh: Scarface.

MI: What do you like to do most and why?

Josh: Making music really gets me off.

Josh: Only when I was on a large amount of acid.

MI: How would compare the MTV of today with the MTV we grew up with?

Josh: The MTV we grew up with had music videos and the MTV now you rarely see music anymore. Itís all these reality shows. Itís boring. I want to see music.

MI: What do you think the best thing to ever happen to Rock Ďní Roll was?

Josh: The best thing to ever happen to Rock Ďní Roll was the demise of 80ís rock. It was just fucking contrived and stupid.

MI: Do you have a message that you would like to send to your friends?

Josh: Go pickup You Made Me in stores right now.

MI: What is your favorite quote?

Josh: Victory or death.

MI: Whatís your web site?
